The Former GeoSkills Program
Operating during GeoConnections' first mandate, GeoSkills enabled secondary students, teachers, and career counsellors to learn about geomatics by promoting geomatics, distributing awareness material, and encouraging schools to make this science part of their curriculum.
GeoSkills also offered:
- links to education- and career-related web sites and to geomatics associations;
- scholarships, conference sponsorships, and learning resources;
- online geomatics courses;
- seminars relating to geomatics project management;
- proposal writing; and
- an inventory of educational opportunities to help support Canada's geomatics professionals.
