Framework for the Red River Basin

This project seeks to build on several years of work establishing a geospatial data framework for the Red River of the North Basin, using two model watersheds, within an International study area represented by 3 states, 1 province, and a host of governmental and non-governmental organizations with an interest in water management. A project team of technical experts has spent several years sponsoring workshops, holding technical meetings, conducting user surveys, and planning for a web-based mechanism for access to geospatial data. The framework's seven geographic data themes are geodetic control, orthoimagery, elevation, transportation, hydrography, governmental units, and cadastral information. There are a number of non-framework themes that could also be made available such as digital raster graphics, land cover, and flood extent. These would depend on the interests and needs of basin residents and agencies.
