These two communities worked together to create an atlas of geographical data for the Manouane River Drainage Basin, which they share, to develop their capacity to manage their territory in support of both their traditional way of life (gathering, hunting, fishing), and sustainable forestry. The GIS-based system will help them assess numerous tree-cutting proposals received from forestry companies, and study their cumulative impact on their traditional land and its resources
