This site will look much better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.

What is RSS?

Benefits of RSS

  • Receive news headlines, opportunity announcements, articles, success stories and other current developments in real time, as these items are published on the GeoConnections' Web site, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Updates are delivered to your desktop's aggregator or feed reader rather than you having to continually visit the site.
  • View item summaries before linking to the full article.
  • You don't have to give personal information, not even an e-mail address.

What is RSS?

Rich Site Summary (RSS) or as some refer to it, Real Simple Syndication, is an XML-based format for content distribution in real time. GeoConnection feeds will include the date, title, summary and a link to the full article.

News aggregators / News readers

RSS feeds can only be read by browser-like news aggregators or news reader applications. Feed readers give you the flexibility to set-up how often to check for new items in the RSS feeds that you subscribe to.

There are numerous news reader applications available for free download or for purchase on the Internet. You will find these Web resources useful as they list a number of news readers available for download:
